CALBAYOG CITY – A 55-year-old drug ex-con was caught red-handed by a police drug enforcement team from Calbayog PNP that conduct a buy-bust operations in the night of July 15, 2023.

The suspect, Arnel Paulino, popularly known in the area as “Pi-ay” and a resident of Purok 4, Barangay Obrero, this city, was caught selling a Php500 worth of suspected shabu to a police operative.

During the operations, the authorities confiscated from the possession of the suspect 2 sachets of the suspected illegal substance, Php1,120.00 cash, 2 SIM cards and a cellphone.

Paulino is a drug ex-convict having served several years of imprisonment in the Abuyog National Penitentiary (in Leyte) for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, Paulino is presently confined in the lock-up facilities of the Calbayog City Police for documentation and proper disposition.(CJ/JMM)
