CALBAYOG CITY – Five (5) indivliduals were arrested during a drug bust operations in Barangay Aquit-itan, Calbayog City at about 3:15 AM, September 11, 2026. The drug den were the individuals holed out was also dismantled.
Those arrested who are identified in the report with aliases include 2 drug den maintainers (male & female), 1 female drug den employee and 2 male drug den visitors.
In packs of 1.25 grams and 6 pcs heat sealed sachets approximately 30.25 for a total of 31.50 grams of shabu at a standard market value of P206,200.00 were recovered from the suspects’ possession.
Also confiscated from the area were the buy-bust money, assorted items used in the preparation or consumption of illegal drugs, a cellular phone, firearms and ammunitions consisting of 1 unit caliber .45 pistal, one .22 revolver, one caliber .45 magazine and seven rounds of .45 caliber live ammunitions, among other pieces of non-drug evidence.
Stemming from a buy-bust transaction, the operation was conducted by PDEA RO8, Samar PO with Calbayog City Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) and Samar Police Provincial Office PDEU.
The arrested individuals will be facing charges for violation of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, and 12, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (CJ/JMM)
