Policeman Shot Dead; Suspects Unidentified

The victim, identified as PSSg Philip Ray Alcazar, a resident of Barangay 7-3, Tres de Abril St., Cebu City is assigned at Calbayog City Police Force. He was single at 46 years old.

Police investigators who arrived at the crime scene found the victim already lying on the ground by his side, bathed in his own blood, lifeless.

Initial reports said that prior to the incident, the victim was in a drinking session with one Mary Jane Ocheva who is the same person who called the police authorities about the incident. They were in a house rented by Eva Mateo in Road 18, Phase 1, Narcisa Subdivision, Purok 6, Barangay Rawis, about 500 meters away from the police headquarters.

The victim was walking towards his vehicle parked outside the gate when two suspects appeared and, and without the slightest of provocation fired upon and for several times continuously shot the victim.

The police report said that the suspects used .45 caliber pistol in inflicting multiple gunshot wounds on several parts of the body and head of the victim.

Calbayog Forensic Team recovered 26 fired catridges cases (FCC), 2 fired bullets, and 2 live bullets from the crime scene.
