A 31-year-old subject was killed at his residence during a police operation to serve a Search Warrant, early morning of February 20, 2025 in Barangay Balud, Calbayog City.
The subject, identified as Anex Cagomoc, a construction worker, was once a Person Deprived of Liberty (PDL) with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), who reportedly drew his shot gun and fired at the operating team - the Police Drug Enforcement Unit and Calbayog City Police station - at the time when the authorities were introducing themselves and explaining the purpose of their presence at the house of the subject.
The authorities fired back at the subject hitting him at the different parts of his body.
The subject was immediately brought to a hospital where he was declared dead-on-arrival.
The live-in partner of Cagomoc, identified in the reports as alias “Lalay,” 27 years of age, who was present during the operation was also arrested and presently detained at the lock-up cell of the Calbayog City Police Station. She who was found in possession of a pack of suspected shabu. The item was confiscated while cases to be filed against her is being processed.
