San Policarpo NHS Bet Crowned Miss Hadang Festival Queen 2026

CALBAYOG CITY — Micah Sheen Comilan of San Policarpo National High School reigns as Miss Hadang Festival Queen 2026.

Comilan bested out 19 other candidates representing local barangays, academic institutions, alumni associations and youth councils. She was declared winner during a star-studded Grand Coronation Night held at the Calbayog City Sports Center on Wednesday, September 3, 2026. She also earned major awards for Best in Evening Gown and Miss Grand Mercy Hotel.

Rounding out Comilan’s court were Sharmaine L. Porlares of Trinidad (1st Runner-Up) and Janina Franchesca A. Leones of the Calbayog City National High School Alumni Association (2nd Runner-Up).

Specialized title honors went to Cindy Claire L. Pantillo of Christ the King College Alumni Association (Miss Hadang Heritage 2026) and Athea Jelaine P. Ortega of Christ the King College of Calbayog City, Inc. (Miss Hadang Tourism 2026).

Empowering Youth in Remote Communities

The decisive phase of the competition came during the final Question & Answer round, where the Top 5 candidates were asked what immediate action they would take for Calbayog City if crowned.

Comilan emphasized grassroots youth development in her winning response.

" I believe that leadership is the root of our advocacy. If I will win the crown tonight of Ms. Hadang 2026, my first thing to do is to reach those children in remote communities with great potential because I believe that reaching them, unleashing, leading, and empowering them could rule Calbayog because the children [are] the future of our nation, and I believe that investing in our children could mean that (we) the children [are] the hope of our future. The evening's field had been narrowed from 20 down to a Top 10, then to the final Top 5. Earlier securing Top 10 placements were Vinnia M. Samonte (SPNHS Alumni Association), Aira Mae D. De Guzman (Payahan), Esther L. Braid (CADSEV), Allyson Faith M. Castillo (NwSSU), and Phoebe Heart D. Casiracan (San Policarpo).

Special Awards and Star-Studded Panel

The competition featured an extensive lineup of special and corporate awards. Cindy Claire L. Pantillo secured Best in Casual Attire alongside four corporate titles: Miss Super Metro Calbayog, Miss Eunoia Cafe, Hadang Allure, and CHARA Ambassadress.

1st Runner-Up Sharmaine L. Porlares won Best in Swimsuit Attire, Miss Photogenic, and Miss Dentista Ko. Chrisma Paula P. Rojo of Malajog was awarded Best in Festival Costume, while Athea Jelaine P. Ortega earned Miss Eloquence and Miss McDonald's Calbayog City. Additional honors included Miss Immanuel Suites for Allyson Faith M. Castillo and Miss Professionalism for Carla Jane M. Capacite.

Judging the 2026 pageant was a seven-member panel led by Miss Universe 2013 3rd Runner-Up Ariella “Ara” Arida. In her panel were Miss Supranational Philippines 2025 Justine Tarah Marie Valencia, Miss Intercontinental Top 5 finisher Christina Vanhefflin, Mister Pilipinas Worldwide Cosmopolitan 2025 Kenneth Marcelino, Samar Board Member Abbie Joy Irigon-Yulo, restaurateur Catherine Bonavitacola, and Regional Trial Court Judge Mario D. Quinit.

Miss Hadang Festival Queen competition started on September 1 with a pre-pageant showcase at the CACO Theater featuring custom festival attire honoring local craftsmanship. Organised by the City Arts and Culture Office (CACO), the search is a flagship event of the annual Hadang Festival, leading up to the city's September 8 feast day in celebration of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
