2018 AMBAGAN CAMPFIRE AT VILLA MARCELINA

2018 AMBAGAN CAMPFIRE AT VILLA MARCELINA
CALBAYOG CITY – The producers of campfire sessions found a new and bigger campsite for its second edition in the city at a shoreline destination situated between the mountains and Samar Sea.

This second edition, dubbed “Ambagan Campfire Sessions – Malaya 2018,” will be held at Villa Marcelina Beach Resort (or Villa Marcelina) in Barangay Salhag of the city’s Tinambacan District on April 28, 2018.

One of the articles written describes Villa Marcelina as a place that is “already an exciting destination for a summer getaway” even at its present soft-opening state. Straight from the beach, the writer continued, a tourist can slip into its waters and go for a swim, snorkeling or diving to enjoy the marvelous underwater world with, by chance, an added treat to the sight of dolphins that are occasionally seen frolicking along the nearshore waters in that area. Towards the mountain side, strolling near the woods for an early morning hike is made more delightful with vegetation becoming more alive with the flutter of wings and the chirping voices of birds.

Afternoons by the beach at Villa Marcelina are relaxing. It is more enthralling with the panorama that the setting sun provides. There you can watch daylight slowly drifting away to usher in the heavenly bodies visible to the human eye during the night.

In between the water edge during high tide and the foot of the mountains is a parcel wide enough for beach goers and campers to mount tents, carry out beach activities, intimate concerts and performances.

Ambagan Productions for this year’s campfire session will treat campers to a package of art exhibit, photo exhibit, tattoo expo, beach game, traditional games, spoken poetry, jam session (from night to daylight) and performances of local bands and rappers. For an unlimited access to this package of fun and entertainment, a camper would need to purchase a ticket for Php100.00 which will serve as pass to the camp. A ticket is good for only one admission – young or adult – with campers encouraged to bring their own tents and food provisions.

The first campfire session in October 2017 was in Sitio Ba-ot where camp joiners utterly exceeded the number of tickets circulated. The performances, beach and camp activities and fun in that successful event was documented by Calbayog Journal in photos (https://www.facebook.com/pg/calbayogjournal.news/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1453835414735400) and on video captured and livestreamed during last year's performances (https://www.facebook.com/calbayogjournal.news/videos/1453201558132119/UzpfSTI2MzMwMTA0NDE1ODE2OToyODY5NDI3ODE3OTM5OTU/)
