A total of 215 media workers from the islands of Leyte & Samar received salaries for ten (10) days of work in terms of temporary employment under the programs of Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) implemented by the Department of Labor & Employment (DOLE), Regional Office 8.
Media Workers entered into the contract of providing services in coastal clean-up and tree planting activities with DOLE 8.
Payout was made at the Robinson's Gallery in Tacloban City today, June 12, 2025.

DOLE 8 Regional Director Atty. Dax Villaruel expressed appreciation to the department for including the media group as one of the qualified beneficiaries of the TUPAD program
Likewise, media practitioners whose application for inclusion in the program were accepted,expressed thanks to DOLE for qualifying media workers under the informal sector or the group not recognized with normal income sources.
TUPAD program aims to provide temporary employment for displaced, underemployed, and seasonal workers affected by various crises, offering assistance for a minimum of 10 days and a maximum of 30 days depending on the nature of the work. The program is community-based and focuses on poverty reduction and inclusive growth.(CJ/jmm/AM)
