“May indication, dito, Sir! (There is an indication here, Sir) is the message that the operator relayed to the operatives when Narcotic Detection Dog - Working Dog “Lorie” demonstrated signs about the presence of narcotics inside the car.
“At the request of the Samar Provincial Police Command, PCG-Coast Guard Sub-Station Calbayog immediately responded to assist in the inspection of an Isuzu Crosswind flagged down by PNP-Highway Patrol Group in Barangay New Mahayag, Catbalogan City on April 16, 2025,” PCG Personnel informed in a phone interview.
The Calbayog Sub-Station group and its CG K9 Team-Calbayog with Narcotics Detection Dog, CG Working Dog “Lorie” (NDD-CG-WD) arrived at the area to conduct the paneling inspection.
Trained since she was 2 months old, 5-year-old NDD-CG-WD “Lorie” conveys positive indication on the presence of a narcotics inside the subject vehicle by going around then sit in front to look up to her operator.
“The operator immediately relays to the operatives that there is a positive indication on the presence of narcotics when CG Working Dog is observed to manifest such routine after sniffing on the packages,” PCG Personnel explained.
NDD-CG-WD “Lorie” is the same Belgian Malinois employed in the inspection of narcotics with an estimated value of Php 22M in the same barangay in January this year. WD Lorie is trained and specialized on detecting narcotics.
“PCG-Coast Guard Sub Station Calbayog is under the command of the Coast Guard Station Western Samar based in Catbalogan City but only Calbayog Sub-Station has CGK9 Team for which reason that we are requested to assist in such operations,” CG SubStation Calbayog personnel explained.
