A man falls dead following gunshots that rung out at midday of July 16, 2023 in Purok 5, Barangay Bagacay, Calbayog City.
Police investigators identified the victim as Mael Baragenio Roxas, a resident of the area. He left 3 children and their mother.
Nine empty shells of alleged .45 calibre firearm were found by the PNP-SOCO in the process of investigating the crime scene.
Also found in the crime scene was a wallet believed to be owned by the victim. It contained, among other, several identification cards, amount of cash money and prayer booklet.

Three unidentified men were seen leaving the crime scene on board a motorcycle towards the direction of the diversion road.
The police investigation team on the crime, headed by PSSgt. Terence Diaz is still looking into pieces of evidences and information that may establish the motive of the crime.
A group of policemen is also conducting hot-pursuit operations in search of the possible suspects of the crime.
This incident is second in a row following the incident at a drinking joint in the early morning July 15, 2023. That shooting incident killed John Joseph Rebucas on-the-spot.(CJ/JMM)
