Catbalogan City, Samar — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station Western Samar has temporarily suspended all sea travel within the province as a safety measure against Tropical Storm Uwan (international name Fung-Wong). ? ?

Station Commander Lt. Paul Albert E. Asis ordered the suspension for all vessels and watercraft, except those seeking shelter with proper clearance and without passengers or cargo. ?

?By this afternoon, Catbalogan City Port stood almost deserted, a stark reminder of the storm’s threat. The usual bustle of motorized passenger boats was gone, leaving only a few cargo vessels quietly anchored, bobbing gently in the calm waters under a gray, looming sky. ? ?

The PCG urges mariners, travelers, and coastal residents to remain vigilant and strictly follow advisories from PAGASA and the Coast Guard.(CJ/jmm/DMJ)
